Objective

Leadership
Trained peers and subordinates to exceed standards put forth in Army regulations to achieve maximum duty proficiency. Earned Commandant’s List honors by graduating in the top 15 of 128 Staff Sergeants as a Sergeant during Advanced Leader’s course. Created lesson plans used to train basic combat trainees on improvised explosive device recognition (IED) and counter-IED tactics.

Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls within the facility. Verbally issue commands to all team members and youths for operational purposes. Train and perform team building exercises for all staff members to ensure facility is running properly. Attend required meeting for supervisors. Sign off on all disciplinary actions issued to youth in the event of an incident. Maintain facility SECURITY. Implement any new training procedures that could be applied and used in the facility. Apply emergency response techniques as outlined in state emergency response service protocol according to scope of practice. Emergency vehicle operator. Respond to emergency and non-emergency incidents that transpire at the facility. Assist officers with room/cell breakdown in search of contraband or any items not authorized at facility. Monitor and observe incidents not authorized at the facility. Counsel and/or recommend youth in event disciplinary actions are required. Ensure all duty stations are properly secured and related equipment is in proper working order and in compliance with standards operating procedure.
Juvenile Detention Officer Dekalb Regional Detention Youth Center Oct 2015 – Mar 2016
Supervise the recreational and work activities of youths. Maintain order and security, conduct counts to ensure all youth are present. Observe how youths respond to one another. Conduct inspections and searches of youths property, living quarters to locate contraband. Ensure all areas remain clean. May search youth themselves using the pat frisk or strip search methods. Outside support in required for traveling outside the facility.
Instructor / Infantryman / Trainer U.S. Army Jul 1995 – Nov 2015
Assist in the day-to-day operations on an Army Infantry battalion comprised of approximately 800 soldiers. Plan, coordinate, supervise, and revise plans for unit training and other special events. Battle NCO for Tactical Operations Center (TOC). Coordinated support and resources during direct and indirect contact of troops on a constantly evolving battlefield. Receive daily terror threat level briefs and implement appropriate level of security per standard operating procedure. Supervise quarterly company level security drills.
Lead combat patrols. Respond to requests of supplemental security force. Sergeant of the Guard. Interact with Iraqi civilian, military, and paramilitary populations in such a manner as to promote health, well-being, and cohesion. Assist Iraqi population in identifying problems within their villages and developing projects to help eliminate or mitigate issues. Evaluate two rifle team leaders and six subordinate infantrymen for proficiency and promotion potential. Lead a squad/team of up to nine soldiers. Train subordinates on basic job deployment operations in preparation for travel to a combat zone.
Operate as a member of an Army Infantry rifle squad. Conduct searches of buildings and facilities. Maintain proficiency with assigned weapon systems and on duty related tasks. Use various types of communication equipment. Operate in austere conditions.
