Dear Hiring Manager,

I am seeking a full-time position and an opportunity to work in a media-based environment. At California State University, San Marcos, I focused my undergraduate studies on Art and Media. Apart from school, I am a Contributing Writer for two different websites. At Curiosity Shots, I write weekly opinion pieces that tackle current cultural issues. At Recruit Scouting, I write columns on the next wave of NHL talent, while providing in depth rankings three times a year on the current draft crop. Prior to my undergrad, I transferred from Saddleback College, where I focused on Film and Television Production. At Saddleback, I was a Student Production Assistant and volunteered as an International Student Advisor. I would love an opportunity to put my knowledge of media to work at your company. This year, I have had the privilege to interview notable individuals in media. Some people I have spoken to are CNBC’s Alex Sherman, THE CITY’s, Hasani Gittens, CBS NY’s Ali Bauman, TSN’s James Duthie, The Gotham Gazette's Ben Max, The Athletic’s Sarah Goldstein, Author, Jennifer Wright and The Globe and Mail’s Molly Hayes. I have found these interviews to be insightful to what a real-world media and production experience is like.

Along with having several years of media and production experience, I interned at the City of San Marcos. There I scheduled meetings between San Marcos and CSUSM. I was also in charge of researching and developing promotional ideas for the San Marcos neighborhood expansion, titled "North City." I also had internships as a Content Creator at Surfline and an Assistant to Disney Artist Trevor Mezak. At Surfline, I was tasked with developing media content through photos and film. With Trevor Mezak, I developed promotional footage that would later be used in advertising, while taking care of behind-the-scenes production work.

I would love an opportunity to uncover my potential at your company, and I know your company is the place for me.

Best regards,

Will Shelleau
