“FATIGUE BEHAVIOUR OF BITUMINOUS CONCRETE MIXES WITH MARBLE DUST”
M tech specialization in Highway Technology
Marble industries in India produce more than 3500 metric ton of marble powder slurry per day, as waste product. When dumped on land, these wastes adversely affect the productivity of land due to decreased porosity, water absorption, water percolation. In the study, the suitability of marble waste in bituminous mixes has been explored. Aggregate gradation of bituminous concrete grade II as per Ministry of Road Transport & Highways
(MORTH IV) revision, Crumb rubber modified binder (CRMB-55) has been used for the study. Marble dust from Jigani, Bangalore, Karnataka was collected. An attempt has made to evaluate the suitability of marble waste as a replacement to fine aggregate and filler. In this study was undertaken with the following objectives: 1. Mix design of bituminous concrete mixes.
2. Temperature susceptibility of bituminous concrete mixes. 3. Fatigue behavior of bituminous concrete mixes.
“PLACEMENT OF VEHICLES WITH RESPECT TO ROAD WIDTH AND TRAFFIC CONDITION.”
B.E. [Civil Engg] group project (Team size: 4 members) Road vehicles during moving condition perform the lateral shift along with the longitudinal movement and distance of its left front wheel from the edge of the pavement is termed as “Placement of Vehicles”. Multilane highways allow abreast movement of vehicles and lane changing operations either from the fast moving lane to slow moving lane or from slow moving lane to fast moving lane. The full width of the median lane on a multilane divided road may not be utilized by the traffic due to presence of physical barrier. Therefore, the vehicles tend to move close to the centre line causing the ‘Untidiness’. On Indian highways no dedicated lane is provided for a particular type of vehicle and hence, lane usage is generally of mixed type.
The present study was undertaken with the following objectives:
• To study the general placement of vehicles
• To study the placement of slow and fast moving vehicles for different road width
• To study the placement of vehicles for different traffic condition
• To study the placement with respect to road markings. Personal Profile:
