EXPERIENCE

Hacienda Mexican Foods – Industrial Engineer February 2020 – Present, Detroit, MI

Utilized Lean concepts such as PDCA, 5 Whys to deploy focused Kaizens, Visual boards thereby increasing throughput on production floor.

Updated Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), Work instructions to reduce errors

Reduced Scrap by 17% by developing scrap reporting templates as a part of continuous improvement.

Developed Master Production Schedule to streamline current production planning which helped to reduce labor hours by 250 hours/week.

Productivity improvement of plant by 1.2% by improvising manufacturing schedule and tracking actual production

Performed Statistical Analysis to understand trends of different products by analyzing historical data of each product.

Implemented 5S tool on shop floor for standardizing process in manufacturing of chips which helped to identify waste and eliminating them.

Achieved 15% increase in manufacturing of chips by conducting comprehensive Time Study on chips line to know real time thereby analyzed data and constructed models to improve production planning Lawrence Technological University – Graduate Assistant September 2018 – January 2020, Detroit, MI

Part of operations team at IEOM Washington DC 2018 where managed 400+ participants and 100+ students for IEOM Student competition in the conference

Managed 300+ participants in international conference (IEOM Toronto 2019) by providing and assisting as an IEOM Operations team

Promote upcoming conferences, workshops, and events of IEOM Society by creating advertising material and contacting students

KSH Logistics Pvt. Ltd. - Industrial Engineer Intern February 2018 to May 2018, India

Performed time study in warehouse to know real time for material to move from inbound and after picking material to go outbound.

Improved material picking efficiency by 16% having defined, sorted and rearrangement of small bin locations as a part of 5S tool implementation.

Performed ABC analysis on unbalanced inventory thus improving cycle counting and making availability of inventory AIM Engineers – Manufacturing Engineer July 2016 to September 2017, India

Developed fixtures for easy Product Assembly which help to reduced product setup time improving manufacturing efficiency by 2%

Improved material availability by facilitating changes in MRP to keep inventory level of different parts required for assembly.

Led a root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone & Pareto charts) of customer complaints; decreased complaints by 20% by implementing inspection procedure and reduced product setup defects. TECHNICAL SKILLS

ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Process Improvement in a Plastic Manufacturing Industry using Six Sigma Tools Spring 2019

Implemented six sigma DMAIC tools to identify factors causing time delay in tool and dies change over time by using Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) concept in improvement.

Used Pareto chart, SIPOC, Fish bone Diagram, Control Charts, Statistical Analysis tools to set and achieve goals

Improvement of average time of changeover by 13 minutes A simulation approach to improve warehouse Outbound process. Fall 2018

Created a warehouse outbound simulation model in Arena simulation software.

Analyzed that warehouse outbound model output was at only 56% efficiency total entity going in system where 87 and total entity coming out of system where 49.

Improved outbound model by balancing picking and staging process which resulted in an increase in entity coming out of system by 84% by layout optimization

Implementing Statistical Process Control tools in Plastic Manufacturing Plant Fall 2019

Applied SPC tools to identify the real problem to improve the quality level if plastic manufacturing industry.

By use of control charts, process capability analysis it was identified that tool Cp Capability Index is not as per requirement it is below 1.

By use of run charts at which point mold data is going beyond limits is identified

Improvement is made by developing tool kit for different size tools and mold storage layout is changed to reduce travel time.

This helped to increase Capability Index Cp value of both Mold 1.42 and tool 1.11 which shows that now process is under limits
