Al Mana College for Health Sciences 08/2015 – 07/2017
Worked at Al Mana College for Health Sciences as a Scholarship Coordinator in the Financial Aid Department. My responsibilities included handling and coordinating scholarship funds to assure a fair grant of available funds to students. This involved regular communication with the Ministry of Education (Internal Scholarship Program) to check with them the lists of qualified and unqualified students and the due funds. Also, regular contact with local charities and institutions is involved to assure a fair grant of study fees for students who are not qualified for the Internal Scholarship Program and not able to pay the fees.
Arab Open University 10/2014 – 07/2015
Worked at Arab Open University (contract based) as an English Language Instructor supporting fresh students enrolled in the Preparatory Year Program. This job has enabled me to strengthen my interpersonal and communication skills as it involved dealing with many students and colleagues. Also, teaching at Arab Open University contributed into strengthening my English language skills. Responsibilities included preparation of daily lesson plans, development of supplementary materials, use of appropriate techniques in the classroom, assigning and grading assigned homework and exams, and providing remedial classes when required.
Manarat Al Sharqyah School 09/2013 – 09/2014
Worked at Manarat Al Sharqyah School for one year as an English Language Teacher. My responsibility was to teach 7th grade, 10th grade, and 12th grade students. Responsibilities included preparation of daily lesson plans, submission of weekly lesson plans, development of supplementary materials, use of appropriate techniques in the classroom, assigning and grading homework and exams, and providing remedial instruction when required.
Dhahran Ahliyah School 09/2011 –06/2013
Worked at Dhahran Ahliyah School as an English Language Teacher for two years. My responsibility was to teach elementary students. During this job I was able to achieve the DAS teaching standards and as a result was honored by getting the Level A as an academic teacher. This position enabled me to provide students with the different English language skills including, reading comprehension, phonics, grammar and writing traits. And to be more specific about the curriculum, for reading we had three main areas which are the shared reading, the guided reading and the read aloud including different reading genres. Skills and strategies are applied before reading, like building background, prediction, concept map; during reading, like reading jigsaw, paired reading; after reading, like summaries and making connections. About writing, we focused on five genres: personal narratives, procedural writing, persuasive writing, research and poetry. I was challenged to be creative, nurturing, patient and most of all, up to the DAS teaching standards.
Saudi Aramco English Training Center Summer 2010 and Summer 2011
Sponsored by Saudi Aramco for two consecutive years to participate in the summer training for college students as an English Language Trainer. I had the opportunity to teach high school students in the Special Training Center. My responsibilities included preparation of daily creative lesson plans, development of supplementary materials, use of appropriate techniques in the classroom, assigning and grading homework, and preparing and leading assigned projects.
