PROJECT

Title: Studies on biodegradable properties of LDPE/PLA blend with microclay. Decription:

A degradable film of LDPE/PLA is made by blending LDPA(Low Density Polyethylene) and PLA (Poly Lactic Acid) in the ratio of 70:30(wt%) with EGMA(Ethyl Glycidyl Methacrylate) as compatibilizer, Benzophenone as photo-degradable additive and microclay as filler. The film is subjected to various tests and proved it shows 4% weight reduction on soil burial test. INDUSTRIAL EXPOSURE

• Undergone 5-days Inplant training at VALEO LIGHTING SYSTEMS, Sriperumbudur in Plastic moulding,assembling and coating techniques.

• Undergone 3-days Inplant training at UNITED INDUSTRIES, Sriperumbudur in Moulding and Assembling techniques.

• Undergone an Industrial visit to AQUATECH WATER TANKS Kochin in Rotational moulding. CIRRICULAR ACTIVITIES

• Completed ‘Unigraphics in CAD/CAE/CAM with Moldwizard’

• Presented poster in ‘Advancements in polymeric materials(APM-2020)’ an international conference organized by CIPET:SARP-APDDRL,Bengaluru.

• Cleared ‘GATE-2020 with engineering sciences(XE) as Part-B’.

• Organised CIPOFEST’17 a non technical inter-college cultural event & NEGIZHI’2K18 a national level technical symposium in college.
