Co-op for Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area

When hired with the U.S. Forest Service, began the season working on a Type 6 Engine. Currently filling in with the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) as a co-op working on a type 6 Engine

Operate chainsaws to fall trees, cut and clear brush on active fires

Identify and put out hot spots by performing dry moping with fire tool

Put out hot spots with use of water and mixing dirt up with fire tool

Use bladder bags to fight fire with water

Fill bladder bags with water, performed maintenance checks on bladder bags

Search and identify adequate water sources such as rivers and ponds, to draft water out of with the use of fire engine

Perform drafting water with use of Type 6 Engine

Patrol burned areas after fires to locate and eliminate hot spots that may restart fires
