I graduated with my Associate degree in Nursing at Antelope Valley College in 2018 and obtained my Bachelor of Nursing at Grand Canyon University in 06/2020.I have always been interested in using my education and my desire to help others to service my community. I have always been passionate about teaching and working with others to contribute to promoting health. I am looking for a position where I can further develop my interpersonal and leadership skills as a nurse. I am looking for a congenial environment where I can grow professionally.
When I was a lifeguard, I was able to educate children about water safety and swimming and render first aid services. As a lifeguard, I was even invited into people’s homes to teach private lessons. In nursing school, I began a home health position where I assisted a wide range of different clients in their homes. From these experiences, I greatly improved in communicating with diverse populations and developed valuable skills in assisting with personal care. As a nurse, I have worked at Centinela Hospital on a Medical Surgical floor. Quickly, I became a preceptor and Relief Charge Nurse, where I served as a resource to staff. Currently, I work as a Correctional RN where I prcatice therapuetic communication to teach inmates strategies on the prevention of disease transmission. In this environment, I also gain experience in the promotion of environmental safety, compassionate care for substance abuse, and supportive care for emotional/mental health. I have worked in a variety of diverse settings serving the community. I believe I am a strong candidate because of these experiences and from this experience I know that safety is consistently the most important aspect of care. I am constantly looking for continuing education and opportunities to improve the quality of care I give to my patients. I believe these qualities will benefit any company. It would be an honor to work with a team who shares my commitment, vision and values for providing high quality patient care, ensuring safety, and promoting health in a supportive environment. I am very passionate about working as a Nurse and I feel I could contribute to the efforts on your team. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future, moving forward with the hiring process.
Sincerely, Lena Dummett
