I led onshore and offshore teams of developers on various SAP development projects in a variety of functional areas. Worked closely with the business to help design technical architecture and develop functional and technical specifications for the developers. Used my acquired business knowledge to fill in gaps for testing by developing test data and configuration. Oversaw SAP development including all workbench, Dictionary, and interface efforts. Conducted code reviews and usability tests, developed test plans and worked with business to validate functionality against business goals. Also evaluated new and emerging SAP technologies such as HANA, UI5, ABAP in Eclipse, and SAP Gateway.

I continued to participate in development efforts to remain engaged in SAP and related technology especially where limited skills were available or business need and timing was critical such as SAPScript, Gateway, Mercator maps, Jetform, IDOC and BAPI, Interfaces, and SAP MRSS for Shop Floor. I have a wide range of business expertise from working in so many different areas over the years.

I recently developed an SAP Gateway solution using Gateway/Hub design for automating external application calls to the Odata service to create/change SAP vendor Master from an external PowerForms browser based application.

The Hershey Company, ERP Software and Systems Senior Lead Developer/Analyst, Hershey, PA from June, 1997 to February 2014.

August 2010-November 2014: I was part of the SAP MII (Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence) team and received training in mid-January, 2010 in Chicago for 1 week to understand how this tool would be used to deploy MII integrated into the shop floor and integrated with the LPR application for all manufacturing facilities with the pilot plant successfully rolled out in late December, 2010. I was responsible for developing architectural design of MII landscape as it pertains to development and integration with SAP ECC 6.0. I also developed technical specifications for all SAP interfaces including SAP standard and custom data including the LPR application.

I built all interfaces using BAPI and TRFC. I also supervised 2 contractors to build supporting report programs and function modules and also provided detailed technical specifications. I documented the interface technology between MII and SAP.

I was the primary technical development/analyst lead for the MII. I was also involved in initial setup of the system with our Basis team and also defined our SQL server database needs. I also conducted code reviews of MII and Sencha JavaScript, and participated with the knowledge transfer from our consulting partner. Our first go-live pilot occurred on December 19 2010. We rolled out the entire plant in 2011 and moved to other plants with final rollout of MII completed end of 2013 time frame.

We successfully completed all plant implementations and I also learned the Sencha Java framework basics as our visual web front end integrated with MII.

I also developed all the underlying ABAP code, BAPI’s and function modules to support the AIM integration into LPR (ECC 6.0). In addition to the SAP MII workbench and associated support Administrative tools, I also utilize Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio for Database and SQL development, and the OSI PI system Management tools to help with system support issues as well as Microsoft Server connection tools.

I attended the 5 day core training on the Sencha ExtJS platform in January 2012 version 4.x

Recently I have become backup analyst on our integration of electronic Quality CPOP forms into AIM. This requires a detailed knowlede of the SQL database/desgin, using the Microsoft SQL tools to manage the information and modify the data, as well as build SQL scripts to populate database table data when designing electornic CPOP forms. I continue to learn the SAP MII platform ans well as the Sencha Javascript framework. Also continue to be the senior SAP analyst and developer for manufacturing and AIM as well as outside on as needed consulting on corporate wide projects.

I have also focused on Material Master, Inventory loads for the corporation, Vendor Managed Inventory interface, Sales Orders interfaces, Canadian Bank Interfaces, an ALE/IDOC interface to legacy systems, several interfaces to/from Manugistics, and several EDI inbound and outbound interfaces. Also SAPScript layout set development for the Plant Maintenance module and Equipment Bill of Material Loads using the Standard SAP Load Program toolset for converting legacy system data..

Also custom ABAP program development, and custom workflow/SAP Inbox development and configuration programs.

Lead Systems Analyst and Software Development on the Enterprise 21 (Corporate-wide) SAP implementation from 1998 to May, 2002.

I was involved in SAP EDI and SD/MM/PP related development and support activities, Canadian Upgrades to the transportation area, Plant Maintenance Module(PM) activities for Nabisco gum and mint business acquisition and ongoing rollouts of the PM Module at Hershey facilities..

For the 4.6c upgrade completed in May, 2002, I was 1 of 3 Technical Development leads for the SAP 4.6 upgrade, plus continued 3.1h SAP production systems and interfaces support. This includes various testing tools, upgrade analysis tools and the utilization of the current SAP 4.6c toolkit and remediation/conversion of objects/ABAPs/Function Modules/SAPscripts/Custom objects, etc.

I also helped in developing testing plans, security profile testing, OSS notes, and training of power users.

I completed working on post Go-Live efforts including a SMARTFORMS project utilizing a User Exit in an SAP transaction with a custom SMARTFORM program to replace SAP list printing with a SMARTFORMS based output with 3of9 Barcode True Type fonts. This is a proof of concept application that is leading edge for our company’s development efforts.

I was the lead developer on a major Production Line Performance Reporting transaction and reporting Module (internally called LPR) that utilized the complete 4.6c and 6.0 SAP ECC Workbench Transaction Development tools, Dictionary development, ABAP Objects, and integration to Business Info Warehouse (BW) and also receives data from the external SAP HR module, Weight and composition data from WinSPC, and manual data from Z master data tables developed via table maintenance and custom maintenance. It fills a gap that the SAP PP (Production Planning) Module does not offer and has been successfully rolled out to all manufacturing sites at Hershey Foods by end of 2006 and has been well-received by the end user and Hershey Plant Manufacturing community. It is in production into 2015 and beyond and serves as the Manufacturing Key measure book of record.

Version 2 has been developed and delivered to integrate shop-floor data into SAP using an external barcode application and Java Server page-browser based application to then post via IDOC into the existing LPR application. I am responsible for developing the IDOC configuration (create IDOC, segments, posting function modules, user exits, ALE configuration etc.) and the SAP ABAP and dictionary development to integrate the new data into the application.

I was engaged in applying newer SAP development tools i.e. ABAP Objects and extensions into the second phase of this project. I also reviewed JAVA, Eclipse and SAP NetWeaver, and associated next release SAP technologies in preparation for additional efforts in the Application space. I will get involved with Portal applications and the next upgrade to MySAP.com (NetWeaver stack). I also focused on Corporate development standards in the SAP space including JAVA J2EE in the Web Developer’s Studio space.

In addition I worked on the Hershey Mexico, India, and China project teams as the senior ABAP developer/analyst and consultant in ABAP Workbench activities, SAPScripts, IDOC development, Interface work, User exits, Jetform design, and coordination of activities of external consultants on the project teams. I also develop technical specifications for the Mexico Center of Excellence in ERP development.

I continue to mentor other SAP developers at Hershey in the SAP Workbench and am a corporate-wide application consultant

From mid 2007 to 2010 I was Senior Manufacturing ERP development analyst on the Global Supply Chain Transformation project that is realigning parts of our core manufacturing functionality from US and Canada to Mexico. This project was completed end of 2010.

In March 2008 I began an addition to extend the LPR application downtime functionality that was rolled out in May, 2008.

*2008-2009 SAP Upgrade project

I was on the core team for the SAP upgrade from 4.6c to ECC 6.0. This project began in July 2008 and is successfully went live in May 2009. I was responsible for coordinating all Z program SPAU/SPDD related objects for Manufacturing, and completed all defect resolution and technical specifications for other developers to follow. I also added new functionality to the Line Performance Reporting system as part of enhancements related to the new 6.0 upgrade.

I was able to integrate Repetitive Manufacturing into LPR. I developed the first Enhancement Point in the SAP PP module using the new 6.0 Enhancement Framework. I began using the new tools (editor, framework, etc) during this upgrade and now am the primary developer/analyst for the conversion of SAPscript/SMARTFORMs to the new SAP release 8.0 Adobe Livecycle Designer integrated into SAP ECC6.0. I helped lead a team of onshore and offshore developers to convert MM documents such as Purchase Orders and RFQ. In addition I developed the naming standards and architectural model for all Hershey company Adobe Forms development.

I also researched using the new Switch Framework for implementing Shift Notes and Shift Reports as part of Enhancement Package 3.

I was also the overall senior developer for defect resolution and code issues (SAP and/or internally developed) that other staff and consultants can not correct.

I continue to be involved with Mercator mapping interfaces to and from SAP outside the manufacturing environment as well as working as a corporate consultant on various SAP projects outside of Manufacturing.

From January 2010 to June, 2010 I led a team of onshore and offshore developers to upgrade the LPR application for Overall Equipment Effectiveness metrics (called OEE Metrics). This work involved many new facets of the LPR application and associated programs, reports, tables, transactions, interfaces, and master data plus modifications to the actual SAP GUI delivered main application. This was to be the preliminary work to enable OEE for the MII project discussed next.

The end result was a successful go-live in May 2010 and stabilization in June, 2010.
