Lead Administrator/Azure Engineer

Wipro LTD. / Contract with Microsoft 06/2017-Present

Member of Change Management team for Microsoft Intune. Responsible for safe deployment of all code changes to the Intune service. Work with engineers when deployment of code fails to find issue and resolve it to get the code deployed properly.

Lead the efforts to migrate certificate issuer to new Microsoft issuer in all four “public” Intune environments with zero downtime or interruption of service. This included around 200 unique services and about 2500 individual certificates migrated to new issuer.

Worked on automation to reduce cost of repetitive tasks such as copying new binaries to multiple servers and restarting service. Go to guy whenever any automation project needed done or updated due to other breaking change.

Adopted service account password update responsibility using custom PS script module. Wrote script to use the module and log results. This includes dynamically gathering targets to update due to high churn in servers migrating to Azure. Maintain over 99% SLA for incidents and service requests.

Systems Analyst 3

Persistent Solutions / Contract with Microsoft 06/2015-06/2017

Manage infrastructure and applications for approximately 200 services/projects using around 1000 servers/virtual machines (VMs) for the windows and devices organization. This includes but is not limited to, backups for the whole org via SCDPM and Azure, monitoring the infra via SCOM, manage Azure resources for customers and my own team.

After a change in Microsoft management desired a complete reboot of how the business is conducted. I have been integral part in this effort contributing to new standards and processes. Along with this we were also directed to migrate all infrastructure into Azure.

To that effort, I helped create automation using PowerShell primarily to deploy Azure Virtual Machines. These scripts would deploy the resource group, storage account, availability set, NIC, and then the VM using these services. The deployments are role based and will join the domain and install IIS or SQL as needed. Also, if a clustered environment is requested the clustering role is installed and configured as well as the SQL always on configuration. This automation saved technicians an average of 6 hours per SQL always on environment.

Architect and manage Azure resources for customers including recovery vault backups, PaaS solutions for SQL and web services. Assist customers in standing up complex environments consuming large amounts of data in Azure PaaS SQL.

Provide exceptional direct dev support for Azure issues and highly sought as a subject matter expert for related concerns. Reduced Azure Spend by 1.2 million yearly through educating developers as well as direct usage assessments.

Systems Analyst 2

RGEN Solutions / Contract with Microsoft 06/2014-06/2015

Managed and supported five separate Microsoft internal dynamic VM allocation services. Each have their own specific uses and management interfaces, such as SCVMM or custom solutions. Build out Hyper-V hosts and integrate them into the desired environments. Troubleshoot issues with the VM allocation services and on the individual VMs themselves. Tasked with documentation due to no documentation when I was placed on this project. Tasked with streamlining processes and better planning of current resources. Responsible for around 350 infrastructure servers and support of over 14000 VMs.

Consolidated the process to create an infrastructure VM formerly using 5 different PS scripts and requiring a lot of manual intervention into one fully automated PS script.

Stood up 175 new servers, including verifying cabling and mapping. Install OS and configure for use in production. Coordinate with partner teams to plan and implement things like networking and infrastructure such as KVM.

Consolidated the five VM solutions into one service for ease of management. Worked on the bugs and features needed to move redundant services into one that can do the tasks each previously performed so customers experienced no visible downtime.

Help customers through a ticketing and email system, commonly working on several service requests at any moment which I prioritize and organize for efficiency.

Duties include hardware diagnostics and repair, install and configure OS for customers to use for testing purposes. Maintaining an accurate inventory and lab standards. Help customers through a ticketing and email system, commonly working on several service requests at any moment which I prioritize and organize for efficiency.
