As a Labor Relations Advisor I schedule and conduct administrative hearings in order to conclude if a Department employee has violated Departmental rules, regulations, policies or procedures. Upon the conclusion of the hearing I provide a hearing report to the Appointing Authority (Commissioner) that will assist in determining the appropriate level of discipline to be imposed, if any. I also represent the Department at hearings before the Massachusetts Office of Employee Relations as well as the Massachusetts Civil Service Commission.
