As a Labor Relations Advisor I schedule and conduct administrative hearings in order to conclude if a Department employee has violated Departmental rules, regulations, policies or procedures. Upon the conclusion of the hearing I provide a hearing report to the Appointing Authority (Commissioner) that will assist in determining the appropriate level of discipline to be imposed, if any. I also represent the Department at hearings before the Massachusetts Office of Employee Relations as well as the Massachusetts Civil Service Commission.

I provided safety and security patrols at a medium sized city hospital. My duties and responsibilities included responding to codes and alarms, crisis intervention, monitoring the C.C.T.V. and the alarm panel, providing crisis watches for suicidal, homicidal, psychotic, and safety watches for intoxicated and overdosed patients. I investigated safety and security related incidents occurring on hospital property and submitted reports to be utilized by the hospital administration.
