Presently engaged with MECON Ltd (Govt. of India Enterprise), as Advisor, tendering expert advice on Consultancy, Design & Engineering, Construction & Project Management, Services & Turnkey Projects, EPC and other diversified Business etc.

Worked as functional Director on the Board of Steel Authority of India Ltd as Director (Projects & Business Planning) with additional charge of Director (Finance). Earlier also held additional charge of Director (Personnel).

Successfully completed and commissioned all the ongoing Projects. Headed the Business Planning vertical of the Organization. Executed the entire Modernization and Expansion Projects with a CAPEX of more than Rs. 72,000 Crores (USD 12 Billion) across eight steel plants and many mines of iron ore, coal and lime stone. Lead a core Engineering and Consulting team of more than 250 engineers to undertake concept to commissioning of projects including the basic and detailed Design & Engineering activities in-house (CET-Center for Engineering & Technology). The next phase of Modernization and Expansion is under way.

Worked as Executive Director, NMDC Steel Ltd. (NSL) and headed the upcoming 3-MTPA green field Steel Plant in Nagarnar, Jagdalpur in Chhattisgarh State with an investment of around Rs. 20,000 Cr. (USD 3 Billion). Had started the project right from land acquisition and progressed the project up to commissioning.

Worked as President (Projects & Environment), and responsible for executing three projects concurrently for JSW-Ispat Industries Ltd, Mumbai, 2 MTPA Stamp charged Coke Oven Battery & Bye Product Plant, 1 X 55 MW gas based thermal Power Plant and a 2 MTPA Pellet Plant.

Executed on EPC, five turnkey projects concurrently for Vishakhapatnam Steel Plant and Salem Steel Plant, India.

Executed the project of three Continuous Caster machines with six strands each as consortium partner with Danieli & C Officine Meccaniche SpA, Italy, an 80,000 m3 LD Converter gas holder as consortium partner with Clayton-Walker Gasholders Ltd. UK, a structural mill as consortium partner with Danieli & C, a 3200 m3 (all for Vishakhapatnam Steel Plant) and an acid pickling line as consortium partner with Andritz AG, Austria for Salem Steel Plant Rolling mills.

In addition, provided consultancy Services to coal fired DRI Sponge Iron Plants in their design, construction, erection, commissioning and operation & stabilization.

Joined Bhilai Steel Plant, SAIL as Management Trainee (Technical) in January 1982. Worked in various executive capacities lastly as Assistant General Manager until July ‘06.

Worked in Coke Ovens Battery Operations, Heating & regulation, Mechanical Maintenance, Coal & Coke handling and Bye Product Plant for more than 17 years.

Also worked and headed the Capital Repairs and Rebuilding of Coke Ovens & Bye Product Plant for more than 5 years. Executed project of rebuilding, complete revamping and both cold and hot capital repairs of Coke Oven Battery No- 7, 8, 1 & 2, and Bye Product Plant of Bhilai Steel Plant as Project-in-charge.

Started my professional career as an Engineer Trainee at Grau-Brakes Ltd, Faridabad in April 1981, manufacturing automotive pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Overseas Training:

Participated in a six-week Advanced Training Course on Steel Plant Management organized and conducted by VOEST-ALPINE INDUSTRIAL SERVICES, GmbH, AUSTRIA at Linz and Donawitz.

Have additionally visited countries like UK, France, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Holland, Thailand, Bahrain, China, Austria, Egypt, Vietnam, Poland, Hong Kong, Belgium, Luxemburg, Finland, Abu Dhabi, Dubai etc.
