United Health Care (UHC) -- Optum House Calls, Nurse Practitioner: March 2017 to Present
Nurse Practitioner in the Optum House Calls program performing annual, in-home, wellness checkups to UHC members. Review all aspects of preventative care, perform head-to-toe assessments and thorough medication reconciliation to confirm previously diagnosed conditions as well as identify any new diagnosis. Refer members for preventative care measures as well connecting members to appropriate community resources.
McAlester Regional Medical Center -- Transitional Care Clinic: March 2016 to March 2017
•Opened this Transitional Care Clinic and worked as the Nurse Practitioner providing hospital follow-ups for patients at high risk for readmission. Provided out-patient case management, patient education, and coordination of services between providers. This clinic was not adequately funded and determined to be unsustainable for a small health system.
Muscogee (Creek) Nation (MCN) Department of Health: 02/2013 to February 2016
•Provided comprehensive primary care as a FNP in the Community Clinic, primarily a gerontological patient load. Occasional coverage of Fast Track in the MCN Medical Center Emergency Room. Before completing the FNP program, I worked as the Clinical Educator and Organizational Development Specialist for this health system. Provided for clinical educational needs of a rural hospital with more than one hundred employees.
Saint Francis Hospital South, Tulsa OK: 4/2012 to 02/2013
•While working towards completing the FNP program, I worked as a clinical nurse in a maternal/child unit providing couplet care to postpartum mothers and their newborns
ITT Technical Institute (ITT), Tulsa, OK, Nursing Program Chair: 12/2010 to 12/2011
•Leadership of a program with 150 students, six full-time faculty and five part-time adjuncts in more than 30 clinical agencies. Left this position to start a FNP program and provide care for a terminally ill family member.
Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology (OSUIT), Okmulgee, OK: 4/2004 – 12/2010
•I was first employee hired for this new Associate Degree Nursing Program. From day one, I was involved in curriculum development and revision, accreditation preparation and development of admission criteria and standards. Experienced in the instructional areas of Maternal/Child Health, Physical Assessment, Medical Terminology, Psychology, Leadership, Pharmacology and Fundamentals of Nursing in the didactic and clinical settings. Developed four online courses.
•Served as the Simulation Lab Coordinator in a state-of-the-art, seven bed lab that included multiple levels of Laerdal simulated patients with built-in recording equipment.
•Responsible for elements of design, working with construction team, and furnishing of a $6.1 million, 25,000 square foot nursing education facility. Successful grant writing experience accumulating almost $500,000 in funding for the new facility for equipment and furnishings.
