New Hope Foundation: June 2012 – May 2015

Staff Nurse, later promoted to Charge Nurse

• Assessed and triaged new clients in acute withdrawal (aged 13-80 years old) in a 159-bed addiction and behavioral healthcare clinic

• Crafted curriculum and taught psychopharmacology content to the adolescent unit which was so well received that it was requested by both the adult unit and as an in-service for non-medical staff members.

• Provided round the clock care as a Charge Nurse for the entire facility during Hurricane Sandy (72 hours straight) and marshalled teamwork - until relief arrived.

Hospice Care: 2007 - 2012

Private Duty Nurse

• Managed hospice care: assisted family members in agreement of care plan, educated family on disease course/treatment options, performed monthly medication reconciliations, as well as collaborated with specialists, researchers, and aids

• Utilized clinical skills: managed PEG feedings, addressed wound care, and administered Lovenox under physician’s supervision

Cardiac Staff Nurse: 2005 - 2007

Monmouth Medical Center (affiliated with Robert Wood Johnson)

• Provided patient care pre and post cardiac surgery on a 32-bed unit at a large teaching hospital

• Gained experience with telemetry, ACLS, running codes, ventilator/airway management, tube feedings, ostomy care, use of wound vacs, advanced wound care, starting and managing IV lines
