Mar 2020 — Present Member, Santa Clarita Indepedent Districting Committee Santa Clarita Advocate for changing the City of Santa Clarita's general at-large elections into district-based. Implement voice of minorities into the conversation. Outreached to obtain more community input. Educated the residents of the city as to why transitioning is best fit for the city. Mar 2019 — Present Member, Cesar Chavez Commemorative Commitee Helped organize multiple events dedicated to the life of Cesar E. Chavez within the San Fernando Valley. Events included the annual Inspirational Youth Conference and March for Justice in honor of the late labor activist. Acted as harmony keeper during the march and helped transition participants to the cultural fair following the march. Outreached to schools for youth participation during the conference and march. Mar 2019 — Jun 2020 Assistant Project Specialist, Pueblo y Salud San Fernando Assisted the Community Engagement Coordinator with facilitating and implementing policy campaign activities, such as conducting key informant interviews. Organized and mobilized community members to reduce exposure to secondhand smoke in multi-unit housing throughout LA County. Attended and participated in local schools, community, staff and other meetings in accordance with program needs, this as a way of fomenting strong working relationships with key community stakeholder organizations. Identified key decision makers and coordinate with local community organizations, stakeholders and leaders to build support in efforts to reduce exposure to secondhand smoke in multi-unit housing.
