Project: Refresh outdated and undocumented servers, creating process and documentation, work with business owners to satisfy needs and complete migration. This included normalizing records and aligning required management and monitoring services as part of the find process. As we honed the process I proposed moving to a lifecycle management process.

Project: Hardware monitoring. Implemented HP Insight Control for the Windows servers. Limitations of this suite led us to move to HP Oneview in conjunction with the vmWare team.

Project: Windows patch management using HPSA and create semi annual hardware updates using HPSUM. This required coordination with the HPSA team to right-size the system for the scale of the environment and resolve point problems for over seven thousand physical and virtual servers. Patch reliability went from about 60% to 98% for Windows servers and from zero to 80% in the first year of hardware updates.

I migrated the firewall from an aging Fortinet firewall cluster to a more affordable and appropriate Watchguard system, improving security and reducing connection tickets from 3 a day to 3 a month. Migrated from Netware to Windows servers on VMWare with assorted virtual linux appliances. This required installation of dual site EMC iscsi storage networking.
