Senior Network Architect

Sean Meldrum is a Senior Network Engineer with 20+ years’ experience in the Telecommunications Industry working as a Network Architect and Senior Routing Engineer for Internet Service Providers. His expertise includes telephony project management on a national level for fortune 1000 companies and management of an international Network Operations Call Center (NOCC). His equipment experience encompasses Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Alcatel/Lucent, and Extreme Networks routers and switches along with proprietary fiber termination manufacturer Canoga Perkins. Education: Multi-location Educational Collaborative. Designed and implemented a hub and spoke WAN design for a Technical Institute incorporating their existing I2cloud connection. Multiple Universities and Colleges in the Collaborative were able to connect back securely to the primary institute to gain access to the I2 cloud.

Real Estate: International Real Estate Company. Designed a multi-site solution utilizing a combination of VPN and point to point circuits to remote sites. All interoffice traffic routed to HQ location over point to point circuits and all internet access went out individual internet connections at remote sites.

Financial: Financial company with multiple major US and oversees locations. Designed specialized network with separate fiber transport circuits for internet access and VLAN connections for interoffice traffic including VOIP running QOS.. As redundancy traditional point to point circuits for failover multiple locations for interoffice connectivity to the HQ and Datacenter location were implemented. Disaster recovery in multiple data centers with built in redundancy in case of a failover of the primary transport.

Responsible for network operational management of Wave2Wave’s 7 POP domestic IP and VoIP network, working with the Director of Network Operations to maintain and manage the integrity of network communications.

Upgrade of Core Routing system encompassing the New York Metro area which services over 34,000 voice and internet users on the Wave2Wave and off-net networks. This was done to add a new upstream provider and upgrade facilities.
