Maintenance Manager

Richmond, VA

Work with the plant manager to ensure maintenance tasks are carried out and that the plant runs efficiently. Utilize and manage Maintenance Management Software (COGZ/Fiix) to ensure maintenance tasks are scheduled and completed on time. Create downtime tracking spreadsheets and production logs to accurately track production information, which I then compile into a master spreadsheet and use to track trends, identify room for improvements, and have reliable YOY and YTD production information. Maintain and update Value Stream Map and time all of the process steps for various job duties and identify room for improvement. Help with and generate ideas for capital expenditure projects. Encourage and utilize teamwork among key project associates to design and manage industrial engineering projects such as, but not limited to: fluid delivery, powder conveyance, raw material storage, safety controls, etc. (largest project worked on was $375,000.00 and average project totals are approximately

$1,500,000.00 per year). Utilize AutoCAD software to aid in projects by creating P&ID’s, designs, facility layouts, emergency exit maps, etc. Work directly with contractors, vendors, and all levels of management to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Utilized negotiation skills and leverage to acquire project savings. Write standard operating procedures that outline all plant related work activities. Develop job safety analyses that highlight how to do a job safely. Develop Lockout/Tagout procedures for all equipment that is either electrically energized or has material flow/potentiality for engulfment through other means. Perform EH&S duties such as routine storm and wastewater sampling, conducting best management practice walkthroughs, develop and maintain relationships with local DEQ, generate, maintain, and provide environmental information (air emissions, storm water discharge, etc.) for audits, and regular GEMBA walks to ensure all safety protocols are being followed and to generate ideas for engineering control measures. Obtain, read, understand, and neatly file all relevant environmental, health, and safety records and permits (air permit, storm water discharge permit, hot-work permits, confined space permits, roof access permits, etc.), DMR/SMR sampling reports and submittals, downtime reports, accounts payable records (invoices, purchase requisitions, work tickets, etc.), completed preventative maintenance records, calibration certificates and records, forklift/equipment meter readings/maintenance records, capital expenditure project information (design drawings, quotes, project packets, CAR submittal/approvals, billing history, invoices, and contact information), and general company policies (employee handbooks, Hazard Communication Program, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, Spill Prevention Control & Countermeasures Plan, etc.), in both electronic and physical format. Responsible for updating and maintaining SDS binders throughout facility when new chemicals are added or removed.
