Khatib and Alami is a multidisciplinary urban and regional planning, architectural and engineering consulting company that was established in Feb. 1964. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Civil Engineer: Site intern in a 2-story residential and commercial building: MASONRY
• Masonry/blocks differ on sizes within specific locations. It will be constructed in accordance with the specification.
• All block work materials and accessories will be as specified and approved. This includes aggregate, cement, water, wall ties, damp proof course (DPC), reinforcement, ties and anchors, embedded flashing materials and mortar mixes.
THERMAL AND MOISTURE PROTECTION
A. ROOF WATERPROOFING
• For all concrete roofs slab waterproofing works the TPO system is change to Membrane water proofing system.
• All waterproofing materials as per specification tested and approved.
• Waterproofing works will be installed only by applicator. B. WET AREA WATERPROOFING
• This system will be applied on all wet areas, such as kitchens, toilets wherever required.
• Waterproofing provided as per recommended manufacturer able to bond to substrate under conditions of service application as demonstrated by waterproofing manufacturer based on testing and field experience.
• Applied only by approved subcontractors.
FINISHING
A. PLASTER
• Plastering work is part of internal and external finishing.
• Plaster is done both in wall and ceiling
• Area where both wall and ceiling plaster is needed, ceiling shall be completed first before proceeding to the wall.
• Working platform, scaffolding will be provided with all necessary safety requirements.
B. RAISED FLOOR/ACCESS FLOOR
B.1- MATERIALS
• All materials such as floor panels cover finish, pedestals, and stringers should be as per specification supplied by qualified manufacturer.
• All materials will be delivered at site, protected and stored properly at site in a manner to avoid damage.
Other responsibilities and duties:
- Providing quality assurance though physical inspections for plastering, floor tiles, masonry work and more.
- Monitoring assembly process.
- Run tests such as slump test and water test.
