WORK EXPERIENCE

Production Engineer

Shell Exploration and Production Company

01/2013 - 01/2016, New Orleans, LA

Monitored daily well production surveillance activities by analyzing production trends. Communicated daily with offshore field operations and collaborated with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure safe and sustained production from assets. Responsible for production surveillance and optimization of 2 TLPs daily, and occasionally filled in for 3 fixed leg platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. Identified opportunities for ramping wells; recommended stimulation candidates and signed off on monthly wellhead/6 monthly SCSSV test results which were sent to the regulator. Updated and tracked well models for subsea and DVA wells with latest well tests and recommended strategies for increasing production from the wells. Conducted continuous monitoring and troubleshooting of wells to minimize production downtime. Routinely conducted RCFA's for wells that had issues, and recommended an action plan to bring the wells backup to their full potential. Took complete ownership for the wells in 2 TLPs/subsea through the entire lifecycle from bringing the wells online, to maintaining their integrity, conducting diagnostics, planning interventions, and designing their plug and abandon procedures. Lead unload of multiple DVA and subsea wells including smart well completions. Collaborated with surface teams in formulating procedures for shut downs and ramp up guidelines of new and existing wells. Scheduled and planned well intervention jobs and routed AFEs. Collaborated and actively engaged with development team to recommend tubing sizes for new wells from model predictions, and influenced the selection of screen size and proppant selection based on observations from existing wells.

Designed and planned gas lift operations for wells including the modeling work, and actively collaborated with a team to introduce gas lift on a platform for the first time. Also spearheaded the design of production logging operations to assess multizone inflow. Lead quarterly Production System Optimization and Well Review meetings with the asset team presenting cases for ramping up of existing wells based on detailed analysis of well tests, recent intervention results, model predictions and evaluating surface facilities constraints.

Completed 1 year offshore on a TLP in the GOM as field production engineer with 2 weeks on-2 weeks off schedule. Lead unload of wells for 3 months as lead production engineer for asset in the field. Involved in all aspects of offshore production operations and was a process safety leader and fire warden.

Lead monthly production meetings with offshore leadership and office to summarize monthly production, highlight KPIs, and discuss regulatory and surveillance requirements.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Reservoir Engineering Specialist

BP

01/2011 - 05/2012, Anchorage, Alaska

Built and developed the first ever fit-for-purpose reservoir souring model for Prudhoe Bay and incorporated the effects of waterflodding and miscible gas injection on WAG cycle on subsurface sulfide production. Managed reservoir surveillance activities for Aurora and Borealis satellite fields of Prudhoe Bay by managing VRR and reservoir pressure of the field to target volumes of water and gas injection for WAG operations. Monitored daily injection and production, and managed selective MI to maintain good reservoir health and performance. Assessed Decline Curve Analysis for assets and carried out reservoir forecasting and production estimation. Developed and kept reservoir models up to date for assets with latest well test results. Responsible for reserves estimation based on compositional modelling, and certification.

Lead asset partner meetings for reservoir performance reviews and successfully delegated and completed action tasks to multi disciplinary teams.

Petroleum Research and Teaching Assistant

University of Alaska Fairbanks

09/2007 - 12/2010, Fairbanks, Alaska

Managed the reservoir rock and fluid properties laboratory for 2 years which involved maintaining lab equipment that measured rock/fluid properties as well as conducted measurements of properties. Developed reservoir CMG models for asphaltene deposition induced by five different miscible gas injections, and analyzed their effect on oil recovery. Results indicated huge impact on oil recovery when CO2 and rich gas are used for injection, the effect of reservoir pressure over the life of the field and the locations where asphaltene precipitation takes place the most. Taught, guided and coached undergraduate petroleum engineering and physics students in petroleum engineering and physics labs respectively. Taught classes and lectures in professors' absence. Mentored, guided and tutored undergraduate students through the student mentorship program. Process Engineering Intern

Dorf Ketal Pvt. Ltd.

04/2005 - 07/2005, Mumbai, India

Executed tasks on improved product recovery from distillation columns, centrifuge and separation of emulsions. Assisted in designing of pilot plant for a specialty chemical. Designed Plug Flow Reactor for vapor phase reactions for a specialty chemical. Developed computer programs for designing distillation columns for binary and tertiary distillation processes with emphasis on improved product recovery.

Repaired an out of service centrifuge and got it running and put it in service. Analyzed product recovery from centrifuge and devised methods for improved product recovery.
