I was so excited to see this opportunity to connect patients with Covid-19 testing—from the safety and convenience of their own homes. I believe that meeting patients where they are, both physically and mentally, is more important now than ever before. And, I am confident my experience makes me a perfect fit for this position.
As a Practice Onboarding Specialist with Favor Health, I introduced surgeons and their staff to the Amie virtual patient assistant. This state-of-the-art smartphone application connects providers to surgical patients. Through the application, providers are able to communicate directly with patients—answering questions and educating them regarding their individual needs. My work with Amie motivated my interest in connecting with patients on a personal level, away from the typical clinical setting. I also gained experience conducting telehealth visits in my clinical rotation at Rex Pulmonary Specialists.
In my five years working as an Operating Room Nurse, one of my key responsibilities was ensuring each patient was ready for surgery. I collaborated with both the anesthesia and surgical teams to provide safe and effective patient care. The communication and problem-solving skills I developed in this role will serve as a foundation for my nurse practitioner career. Because of my OR nursing experience, I also understand the importance of efficiency.
