Greetings:
I am a Registered Nurse applying for a staff nursing position. Enclosed you will find my resume with my past work experiences. I would like the opportunity to work with you to provide high quality, safe, compassionate patient care to people of diverse backgrounds within the community and to be able to grow within this organization for many years to come.
I am a recent graduate of New York College of Technology, where I attained my Associates in Applied Science in Nursing and where I am currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, with an expected graduation date in December 2021. I am confident that I am qualified to fit a staff nursing position and your organization will be a great place to start my nursing career so that I can apply my skills and knowledge.
I have over 12 years of patient care experience in various environments, ranging from the home setting to different areas in the hospital setting. I have had firsthand experience in understanding the nursing process and all that it entails to provide safe and competent patient care.
Having worked as a Patient Care Technician in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) at Mount Sinai Beth Israel for 9 years, I have become familiar and comfortable assisting the nurses to provide care to patients on Ventilators, Hypothermia protocols, Post- catheterizations, Intra- Aortic Balloon Pumps in addition to patients with other acute illnesses in medical surgical and psychiatric areas in the hospital.
I am comfortable working and communicating with patients, their families and collaborating with doctors and everyone in the multidisciplinary team to ensure all patients receive appropriate care based on their individual needs.
I have excellent interpersonal skills and I pride myself on building rapport with patients, their families, and my co-workers.
I would greatly appreciate an interview to discuss a nursing position with you in further detail. Thank you for your consideration and time.
Best Regards,
Fay Bass, RN
