PROFILE

Kristin Zinis, PA-C, DOB 3/27/1968. I have been a PA-C since 1990. I have worked in surgical practices including Orthopedics and Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery specialties. I have worked in private practices as well as hospital settings with a variety of responsibilities including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care of the surgical patient. I have helped implement new systems in the post operative care of the surgical patients including tracking post operative complications as well as monitoring patients through their post operative course. My most recent practice was limited to a clinical setting where I worked with three surgeons in three subspecialties. I am comfortable working with different surgeons and tailoring patient care to the surgeon’s preferences. It has been my privilege and pleasure to serve patients as a Physician Assistant - Certified for 30 years.

EXPERIENCE

PA-C SCL Health Medical Group, Orthopedics 1610 Prairie Center Parkway Suite 2200 Brighton, CO 80601 — January 2011- July 2020 This practice has changed names several times over the years but became a hospital owned practice in Jan of 2011. My job responsibilities included seeing patients in a clinic setting. I would see patients independently but have close contact with the attending physicians when needed. I have become proficient in orthopedic diagnosis, treatments and care planning for patients. I am comfortable using EMR’s and setting up templates for more proficient care of the patient. I am comfortable with aspirations and injections, lab interpretation, diagnosing and managing the patient’s care with respect to the specific surgeon and the specific patient. Preoperative H&Ps are also included in my skill set as well as ordering appropriate advanced imaging and closely monitoring the post operative patient. PA-C Mountainview Orthopedics, PC 9141 Grand Street Suite 240 Thornton, CO 80229 — January 2008 - January 2011

Essentially this was the practice prior to being purchased by the hospital system. It began as a private practice and my responsibilities were the same. PA-C Cardiothoracic Surgeons 4101 W. Conejos Pl, Denver, CO 80204 — November 1997 - April 2001

I worked in a private practice of 4 Cardiothoracic surgeons at both St. Anthony Central Hospital and Lutheran Hospital for 3 1/2 years both part time and full time. My responsibilities included doing daily rounds, weekend rounds, assisting in the OR, harvesting vein from the lower extremities for bypass grafting, managing patients in the CICU, adjusting patient care and transferring patients from the CICU to the step-down units, monitoring patients on the step down unit, and eventually discharging them to home including doing discharge summaries. I managed some patients in the office setting diagnosing and treating post operative complications as well as doing preoperative H&Ps.

PA-C Mount Clemens General Hospital Cardiothoracic Team 1000 Harrington St. Mt. Clemens, MI 48043 — June 1992 - July 1997 This hospital is now known as McLaren Macomb Hospital. Working at Mt. Clemens General Hospital was similar to the work experience that I had prior to the MCGH experience. My job responsibilities included preoperative counseling, H&Ps, and educating patients and their families of the upcoming experience. I was also responsible for intra-operative first assisting, closing, vein harvesting, and the post operative care of the cardiac patient. As PA’s, we were the first line of contact for nurses in the ICU as well as patient’s families. We were responsible for running drips, running codes, making decisions in the complete patient care o fate post operative cardiac patient. we were responsible 24/7 for the management of these patients as we had between 2-3 PA’s and RNFA’s on our service. I also served as the Lead PA at this job for the last 3 years that I worked at MCGH. PA-C Cardiothoracic Associates Detroit Osteopathic Hospital 12523 Third Ave. Highland Park, MI — August 1990 - June 1992

This was my first job out of college. This hospital has since closed its doors which is why I moved to Mt. Clemens General Hospital. I was one of 3 PAs along with Cardiothoracic Fellows, residents, interns and medical students who rotated on our service. We were responsible for the CICU and caring for our operative patients 24/7. We took in-house call and cared for patients from preop, intraop, and postop stays. We worked hand in hand with many facets of the medical staff including Internal Medicine, Cardiology, as well as many other subspecialties. We were the lead on caring for the post op cardiac patient in close contact with the attending physician. We were responsible for putting in and taking out of central lines, chest tubes, pacing wires, and assisted on all cases in the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Services. We also did all of the vein harvesting, closing, and first or second assisting on all Cardiothoracic cases.

EDUCATION

Gannon University 109 University Square Erie, PA 16541 — Bachelor of Science in Physician Assisting, Graduated 1990 Magna Cum Laude. SKILLS

My skills include complete care of the post operative patient, aspiration and injection of joints, EMR templates, H&P examination, suturing, and assisting in surgery. Other skills I possess include diagnosing and treating Orthopedic injuries and disease processes. I am able to interpret X-ray findings as well as MRI and CT findings for the Orthopedic patient. I am able to see patients independently and am trustworthy that I will be in close contact with the attending physician when I am out of my comfort zone. I am very efficient in getting charts done while in the room with the patients, most of the time, by using templates and being prepared prior to going in to see the patient. I like to include the patient in the decision making process by presenting them with their options. Educating patients on their disease process and allowing them to make informed decisions is also part of my skill set. Casting, suture removal, wound care, and lab interpretation are also skills that I possess comfortably. It is important to me to keep the surgeon that I work with informed of their patients and any notable changes. It is also important to me to treat patients individually and help guide them through their post operative experience. I pride myself on being on time and running my clinic on time as the patient’s visit should be as pleasant and streamlined as possible. LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION
