Academic Projects
1. Data Science Project
Title : “Prediction of revolving balance of customer for deriving individual marketing strategies”
Tools : Spyder 4.1.3
Language : Python 3.7.4
Duration : 40 days.
Github Link : https://github.com/ranna46/Project
Description:
Should get the least possible RMSE and the model should be deployed using Flask/ RShiny/Heroku.
Multiple regression models were analyzed in order to achieve the highest R squared value while maintaining low RMSE score.
Final model was deployed using Flask.
Responsibility:
EDA using pandas and numpy libraries for understanding of data
Feature selection using multiple techniques like Forward regression, backward regression, Recursive feature elimination and univariate selection
Two kinds of machine learning techniques were used, Multi-linear model and XGBoost regression model
2. M. Tech final year project
Title : “Design and Evaluation of charging stations including renewables and storage”
Tools : MATLAB R2018a, HOMER Grid V1.4.1 and PVsyst V6.63 Location : Solar PV division of Bosch Energy and building Solutions India Duration : 6 months
Publication link : https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/8978356 Description:
Is renewable energy source coupled with Battery Energy Storage, a feasible solution for lowering Cost of energy and operational costs of EV fast charging for a car park in order to lower the impact on the grid?
Monte-Carlo method was used to develop a synthetic load profile, and was loaded into HOMER grid software to assess the economic feasibility and size of storage system. Existing solar capacity with a certain amount of storage and PCU was found to be optimal for the site.
Responsibility:
Requirement gathering and analysis
MATLAB was used to write the code and HOMER software for modeling and analysis
Technical paper with the same title was published in IEEE Xplore. 3. M. Tech Internship
Title : “Solar EPC”
Tools : AutoCAD 2016, PVsyst V6.63 and SketchUp 2017 Location : Solar PV division of Bosch Energy and building Solutions India Duration : 6 months
Description:
Bosch Energy and Building Solutions offers complete turnkey services spanning across design, engineering, procurement, project management, installation, commissioning and maintenance for a Solar PV plant. I was part of Engineering team. Responsibility:
Making PVsyst reports for multiple sites
Layout design of multiple sites with shadow analysis using AutoCAD
3D modelling of multiple sites with shadow analysis using SketchUp.
Getting an in depth understanding of design of Solar plants.
Visited a few sites for inspection and understanding. 4. B. Tech final year Project
Title : “Design and Fabrication of Eddy Current Separator for Separation of non-ferrous materials from waste”
Tools : AutoCAD 2016
Team Size : 4
Location : Lakshmi Info Solutions
Duration : 4 months
Description:
To build a cost-effective magnetic separator to separate Cu, Al and other waste from PET flakes.
An affordable & economical to run concentric ECS was successfully designed which was able to separate Al, Cu from PET flakes.
With a few changes, other metals or waste could also be separated. Responsibility:
