Dr. Salaita Lab, Emory Chemistry Department
Research Associate, 2016-2018
Developed a system to study the forces of HIV cell entry.
I integrated DNA tension sensors, gp120, and ICAM-1 into a lipid bilayer to mimic an infected cell. Uninfected cells bind to the surface and exhibit pN forces onto HIV particles.
Assistant Teacher, Emory
2016-2017
Taught chemistry labs.
GTCbio Enzymes in Drug Discovery Summit
Protein Kinases in Drug Discovery conference moderator, Mar. 2016
Bed, Bath, and Beyond
Lead Sales Associate, 2014-2016
GTCbio Protein Discovery Summit
Protein Kinase and Drug Discovery conference moderator, Oct. 2014
Mission Beach Surf School
Surfing Instructor, 2013
Stable Isotopes Lab, UCSD
Research Assistant, 2011-2013
Developed and constructed a flow tube system for the study of aerosol surface reactions in a variety of conditions. Specifically, the reaction of SO2 on CaCO3 particulates in the presence of O3.
Included independent analysis of previous flow tube studies and independent research into mass-independent isotope fractionation.
Experience in experiment design and implementation, interdepartmental collaboration, chemical reaction pathway determination, data analysis, Lab View, mass- spec, and chromatography.
Associated Students, UCSD
Physical Sciences Senator. 2011-2012
Elected by peers to represent Chemistry, Math, and Physics students in student government.
Nominated AS Research Grant Director by AS Council: Promoted and awarded independent student research
grants from ASUCSD.
Promoted academic resources and the designation of study spaces throughout the physical sciences campus. Ocean View Terrace Restaurant and UCSD Catering
Server and event coordinator. 2008-2011
Awards
Emerson Award, Emory University, Chemistry Department Given by the Chemistry department to students with the highest potential for independent research. The intent of this fellowship is to recognize outstanding academic
achievements and potential to excel
as a research scientist.
Laney Graduate School Fellow Award, Emory University Program nominated fellowship based on
qualifications. Reviewed by faculty committees from the Laney Graduate School.
