I was part of a DRDO funded project, to develop Air Blast Atomizers (Fuel injectors) and a testing rig to measure the atomizers performance.
Created several conceptual designs for atomizers using TRIZ principles followed with a detailed design and used rapid prototyping machine to fabricate a scaled model.
Preformed FEA and CFD analysis to study the flow characteristics and stress distribution within the atomizer and made design corrections to achieve required performance.
Studied different meshing techniques and carried out mesh independence study to ensure the results are independent on mesh density.
