Re: Label Partnerships Coordinator
To whom it may concern:
Please accept my application for Label Partnership position at Universal Music Group. I am a detail oriented, reliable, and dedicated caQdidaWe, aQd RUieQW P\VeOf ZiWh UMG·V YaOXeV Rf iQQRYaWiRQ, aUWiVWU\ and entrepreneurship. My work experience and education make me suitable for this role, but above all, I have a dynamic enthusiasm for the Canadian music industry, that I hope to bring with me to Universal. I am currently completing a 4-month internship with Aura LLP, a Toronto entertainment law firm. My work at Aura involves reviewing, organising, and proofreading contracts, licensing and publishing deals, as well as writing articles on royalties, record deals, sync deals, intellectual property, copyright, and other business affairs & legal topics. At Aura, I have developed my writing skills under the guidance of Andreas Kalogiannides, RQe Rf TRURQWR·V SUe-eminent entertainment lawyers. My experiences at Aura LLP have exposed me to the inner workings of the music industry in Toronto, and improved my ability to work not only remotely, but also cross-functionally and autonomously. Through this position I have gained the necessary experience to be able to coordinate schedules, sale sheets, stock requests, manage communications and provide administrative support. I am a graduate of the University of Guelph where I received an Honours Bachelor of Arts, double majoring in History and Music. In addition, I also studied Legal Studies with a minor in Business at the University of Waterloo between 2015-2016. I studied at Humber College in early 2020, enrolled in a post graduate certificate in Music Business. While at Humber College, I successfully facilitated a television synchronization for my practicum client, as well as managed artist finances, event planning, marketing, and coordinated communications between departments. My success in coordinating a synch while still a student earned praise from both my client and Humber faculty. Through both Humber College and Aura LLP, I have developed connections with music industry organisations that will help me be a liaison for Universal. In August 2020, I interviewed and was shortlisted for the role of Communications Intern at Universal Music with Jessica Brown. Additionally, I aP iQ Whe SURceVV Rf becRPiQg a SXbOiVhed aXWhRU, ZiWh P\ WheViV SaSeU WiWOed The Perception of Value of Acoustic Guitar Tone-Woods & Environmental Sustainability in Acoustic Guitar Manufacturingµ. Thanks to this paper, I was nominated for a $4,000 Music-Counts bursary from CARAS, in the category of music business.
I am very excited for the opportunity to be interviewed for the position of Label Partnerships Coordinator, and look forward to hearing from you at your convenience. Yours sincerely,
Timothy Wilson
