Work experience

2019: South32 Group Operations Acting Production Geologist My role includes compiling daily/weekly/monthly reports on coal qualities and volumes as per Production Geology Report Template. In addition, my responsibilities entail capturing in- pit data with regards to quality and tons per block on a continuous basis. I incorporate in pit data in the grade control model/reports to be used in future modeling operations and planning presentations. Furthermore, I am responsible for the updating of Deswik surfaces and reconciliations of coal qualities and volumes from the pits to the last stockpile before it is sent off to the power station. More importantly, my role includes adhering to the “Care Strategy” through promoting safe behavior, doing safety observations and planned task observations

(PTO’s).

2018: South32 Group Operations Junior Production Geologist My role is to assist the Production Geologist to gather all necessary data to compile reports. It also includes attending all production and plant related meetings; doing continuous pit and stockpile visits, in-pit sampling and complete mining block plan/production geology report. I also respond to pit or stockpile queries, solve in-pit problems, report on coal losses/gains/contamination and stand in for the Grade Control Officer / Production Geologist. I compile Wire Line and exploration sections to be included in Planning presentations and Grade control reports. Projects undertaken so far in this role involve old slurry drilling and sampling to determine the thickness and qualities of slurry material, structural integrity of high walls at Ifalethu Colliery pits and checking compliance of the VDD dump design. 2013-2014: University of Western Cape Tutor
