Care and the management of oncology patients undergoing chemotherapy and its associated complications that require urgent care needs such as neutropenia, hypersensitivity reactions, diabetes management, blood pressure management, Coumadin management, hydration and electrolyte needs, and procedures such as thoracentesis and paracentesis. Although not a complete list of needs, the role allows oncology patients to have urgent care needs addressed in a setting that is specific to patients with hematological malignancies as well as solid tumors.
