Part of the design team in which I was a lead design engineer set on the path of providing an MPLS network resource to GTA.

• Our MPLS network was not ready for primetime and I went with a design of VRF-lite which satisfied the customer until the full MPLS service could be made available.
This customer in turn provided network services to various Georgia Agencies. o FLORIDA INFORMATION RESOURCE NETWORK (FIRN). VLANs, MPLS, BGP, CONTENT FILTERING.
Part of the design team in which I was a lead design engineer set on the path of providing an MPLS network resource to GTA
o CINGULAR.
Migration Plan for moving 7500 router equivalent configurations to 7600 platforms. This group of 7500s supported public safety agencies which required that I work with the business group to gather all players to the change window. Also, this required involving Cisco support staff, internal operations, Data center staff during the change. Used standard develop template to write the document for all internal participating members.
• ENGINEERING:
o AT&T CORE NETWORK, MPLS Lab mockup. MPLS VPN Lab TESTING. VLANs, SVIs, EtherChannel, MPLS, OSPF, BGP.
AT&T required extensive LABS before any project was released. The LAB consisted of various hardware from Cisco, Juniper, Servers, & Firewalls filling the engineers’ needs.
Had Cisco CNC and CSPC data collectors (Cisco owned) installed. Since it was not AT&T’s equipment, I had to launch a myriad of work orders to get devices installed in AT&T data centers.
QOS and COS technology.
• Anticipating VOIP coming to the network the router configurations had to be changed to allow diff-code serve-point as a reasonable way to allow traffic engineering.
Lab configured cisco routers (Cisco 10000, 7600, 7300, 7200, 3800, 3700, 2800, 2600, 1800, 903, and 901), switches (Cisco 2900, 3600, 4500, 5500, 6500), VPN concentrators and firewalls (Cisco PIX, Palo Alto, and Cisco ASA), Load Balancers
(Cisco CSS & 7600 with some F5). Juniper MX240, MX480, and PTX3000. Worked closely with the Security, Operations, and Compliance teams in applying standards necessary to keep the network safe from interruption.
Conducted presentations to both internal and external technical groups to include VP level corporate officers. Collaborate across different functional teams to disseminate new project information and coordinate roll-out strategy at regularly scheduled meetings. Wrote documentation with explanation of network topologies which included diagram of existing networks and plan for growth. o CINGULAR: GRX and Gn migration (SGSN and GRX network elements).
GRX/Gn was a roaming clearing house, they routed traffic between dissimilar GSM networks.
This was an effort to bring a design team together and determine a method of traffic steering using BGP community. This required participation from the GRX network providers.
Traffic leaving the Cingular network would leave a particular BGP exit point and use of communities and other BGP steering methods, the traffic would return to the network via the same BGP it exited.

Developed Cisco 7600, Juniper Netscreen Firewalls, and Juniper MX480 Labs which included providing cost estimates, creating documentation and producing schedules for LAB infrastructure installations.
