Developer Office

I am excited to write to you today to apply for the GIS analyst position. I graduated with a B.S. in Geology from the University of Washington in the summer of 2019. My overall goal is to follow a career that will help me extend my knowledge in various computer programming software to the position of GIS developer. I believe my current abilities are a great match for the position, and I am very eager to do what it takes to help progress the company’s future goals.

During my years as a student, I have gained knowledge in how to work with a wide variety of applications such as technical reports, field work, team projects, Google Earth, ArcGIS, and GIS. I have completed certifications in Coursera regarding Agile with Atlassian Jira, Python Specialization, and SQL for Data Science. I also have goals to complete JavaScript and C++ by the end of the year. This type of training leaves me well suited for both individual work and team collaboration whether it is in the field or in the office. I am looking forward to the opportunity

where my academic background and understanding can thrive as well as progress.

Though my past experience in the work field has only been in restaurant hospitality due to the immediate need for finances, it has elevated my respect for guidelines and following through with expectations. I have learned the importance of a great teamwork mindset as well as the ability to anticipate the needs of others such as guests, staff, and owners. I am open to responsibility and recognize the mentality it takes to do a job well done.
