Warehouse Manager/Location Manager
Manage entire 40,000 sq/ft facility with 10 full-time employees as well as personal management for all local vendors and services. Manage entire $1-million inventory, stock levels, inbound purchase orders. Supervise and manage annual physical inventory and cycle counting. Manage customer relationships by answering calls and emails from customers. Schedule all outbound order picking and shipping. Handle returns as required. Direct logistics and deal directly with various LTL and FL trucking, parcel. Assist setting up new warehouses in other locations. Assist closing warehouses in other locations.
Saved the company $25,000 a year by dramatically reducing shipping costs. Designed corrugated feet to replace expensive, heavy pallets.
Created new boxes for all locations, that dramatically reduced chances of customers receiving damaged parts. Boxes no longer had to be customized. Clients saved at least $2 per box with these changes.
Designed new truck loading program. The customer would buy the fast movers at a discounted price enabling the factory to ship the trailer directly to the customer. The warehouse would not have to touch the merchandise which saved hundreds of dollars in shipping costs.
Simplified Order Reports, significantly saving employees time needed for factory shipments. Added the input of final receipts to job duties which freed up staff and prevented the loss of sales to backorders or competitors.
Initiated sales program for the company. Program grew out of customer service outreach. Personally, visited all the clients to make sure communication and information was strong. Realized new sales opportunities in these conversations.
Career Note: Additional warehouse experience in auto parts. Started out in warehouse picking, pulling orders putting up inventory and work in shipping and receiving. Promoted to Warranty and Claims and Returns. I was promoted to a Satellite company as Operations Manager and Location Manager. Completely ran the warehouse, receiving, distribution, sales and customer service.
