-In charge of operation and maintenance of auxiliary machineries ie. generators,boilers and upkeep of inventories.

-Assisted 2nd engineer with propulsion plant operation and maintenance and various audits and inspections carried out by various authorities including PSC, Flag State and Class surveys.

-In addition to roles and responsibilities of 3rd engineer, Safety and Environmental officer making sure all safety and environment related regulations, pertaining to MARPOL, SOLAS are adhered to.
