NUMERICAL SIMULATION OVER HAWT ( NACA 63_215 )

ABOUT THE PROJECT

A horizontal axis wind turbine is fabricated over an airfoil series of 63_215 (NACA). The project team consisted of 3 members. The main idea behind the project is that a Wind Turbine whose blades are designed under the NACA 63_215 series would make a very great replacement for other normally used wind turbines across the nation.

A 3D model of the wind turbine was designed and then simulated using the ANSYS software. The wind turbine model has also been fabricated and is to be subjected under experiments to gather results .

FINDINGS AND SUGGESTIONS

1.The simulation was done for various angle,different velocities and under the influence of external force.

2.The pressure contour,displacement values and the force contour vectors were obtained from the ANSYS workbench

3.The HAWT(NACA 63_215) was found to be much more effective than the other conventional wind turbines used in our country.
