CodeSnips is a web application that aims to provide coders/developers (or really anyone looking for programming resources) an environment where they can find code snippets with their explanation. While we have several blogs and selected websites for this content, most of the developers spend a considerable amount of time hunting for the right resources to put two and two together. CodeSnips allows users to sign up, share their own snippets and view other snippets. It has some social networking features like comment on, share and like code snippets. Overtime, with a quality collection of explainable code snippets, we aim to reach a point where searching information with the right content takes dramatically less amount of time than what it takes today. This is undergoing some changes on the backend and production testing. Feel free to sign up and add some code snippets. Tech Stack - Django 3.0, Python 3.8, Elastic Search, Postgres 12, Git, Bootstrap, JQuery Crime Classification in San Francisco predictive modeling/analytics A classification model that would predict and provide hidden insights on the type of crime classification in San Francisco and the factors that govern its output. Various machine learning models like Gradient Boosting Trees, SVMs, and Logistic Regression are implemented and compared.
Predicting Post-Collegiate Earnings and Debts predictive modeling/analytics This project is an attempt to put together a system that will help prospective students escape the soaring cost of higher education accompanied by rise in student debt. Dataset comes from a college scorecard that involves information about degree-granting institutions, the demographics of college students and the status of the alumni of these institutions. Data Modeling using Apache Cassandra for a Music Streaming Startup data engineering Create ETL pipeline and tables for user queries using Apache Cassandra. In Apache Cassandra, the data model is modeled depending on the query needs for fast data retrieval. The use case linked to below shows how a music startup like Spotify can model data using NOSQL. The Jupyter notebook file can be viewed for a detailed walk through of the project starting from the need to create a data model and finally ending with populating all tables using Apache Cassandra. As the data currently resides as a bundle of json files, it is not well organized for fetching information for analytical purposes. Hence organizing this data as star schema would make it a lot easier for querying purposes. This project involves designing a star schema, defining fact and dimension tables, building an ETL pipeline to automate the table loading process from source to target. This database is built using Postgres and uses python for ETL pipeline.
