Dear Prospective Employer,
I am writing in regard to the position you have posted. I thought it might be helpful for you to learn a little bit about me before reading my attached resume.
I believe I possess many great skills and qualifications you are looking for that will ultimately make me a valuable asset to both your staff and your facility. As you will see, I hold a BS in Early Childhood Education and have extensive experience in day care as a teacher and a director.
I have spent the last 15 years working as a mailroom technician for a vastly growing printing and marketing agency. Although this job is unrelated to education, I feel as though I have developed interpersonal skills and strengthened my work ethic during my time there. Additionally, the supervisors always acknowledged my ability to teach and often chose me to train the temporary help and the new hires.
Due to the length of time I have been away from the classroom, the most recent experiences on my resume are unrelated. Therefore, I have chosen to highlight the positions that are more relevant to the field of child care, even though they were so long ago.
I appreciate your time and look forward to the prospect of discussing a future with your company.
Sincerely,
Deanna Tuqan
