M.Sc. PROJECT TITLE: SYNTHESIS & CRYSTAL GROWTH OF HALOGEN SUBSTITUTED ORGANIC COMPOUNDS TO COMBINE ITS OPTICAL PROPERTIES WITH FLEXIBILITY.

PROJECT SUMMARY:
I did my M.Sc. project in the field of supramolecular chemistry & Crystal engineering. In my work, Halogen substituted organic compounds such as Benzothiazoles & Chalcones were synthesized. After the synthesis of certain compounds, crystal growth using different types of solvents by slow evaporation method was carried out then identifying the mechanical properties of such molecular crystals under a microscope. Our main objective is to incorporate elastic property in fluorescent crystals. The good quality crystals with flexible property will have implications in smart actuators, organic electronics, optical waveguides etc.
