Project Scheduling

Research and Development Intern Janicki Industries Hamilton, WA Summer 2019

• Manufactured and tested composite substrates to determine the effectiveness and viability of atmospheric plasma surface treatment on secondary bonding strength.

• Gained hands on manufacturing experience with prepreg composites and vacuum-assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM) of carbon and fiberglass composites, including the use of autoclaves, ovens, CNC machining, contact angle surface energy testing and load frame testing.

• Analyzed data and created technical data sheets to present in a professional and effective manner. Senior Project Inert Kornet Missile Launcher Replica Pullman, WA January-May 2020

• Collaborated with the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory engineers to create a realistic, inert replica of a Russian Kornet Anti-Tank Guided Missile for State Department missile recognition training overseas. Full-size training prototype was fabricated in a very short timeframe by design team using multiple 3D printers and working very closely with the WSU machine shop.

• Built Creality Ender 3 printers to 3D print the model using polymer.

• Responsible for rendering all images of CAD models for design review.

• Prototyped small-scale parts to better understand tolerancing issues of 3D printed parts.

• Led project scheduling, customer interfacing, and wrote the final report for the customer.

• Ensured all deliverables arrived and were on time. Undergraduate Research Lithium Sulfide Batteries Pullman, WA October-December 2018

• Manufactured carbon composite separators to be used in lithium sulfide batteries. Learned how to work effectively and efficiently in a lab environment.

• Fabricated and deposited thin films of dissolved graphene nano-platelets onto polyethylene sheets.

• Analyzed the samples for resistivity and porosity to determine if the sample was viable for use. Course Work

• CAD work includes finite element analysis, thermal analysis, and fluid analysis on parts and components I designed.

• Fatigue and failure analysis in composites, metals and ceramics, materials structure, properties and analysis of electronic materials using scanning electron microscopes, optical microscopy, hardness testing, and load frame testing.
