Geospatial Analyst; Unmanned Aerial Systems Pilot
Manipulate elevation data, imagery and attributes to create mapping and digital terrain models for use in strategic, operational and tactical planning, leveraging technology including ArcGIS/ESRI, ENVI and Terra Explorer 3D Visualization. Gather remote imagery and analyze resulting information to brief superiors and plan next steps. Manage geographic intelligence system (GIS) analysis projects based on Commander’s needs. Plan and coordinate flights for over 3,000 mission hours, gathering and completing pre-flight paperwork, briefing with superior officers, monitoring weather and liaising with Battle Captain to plan kinetic strikes. Conduct all post-flight checks and procedures, ensuring aircraft readiness for subsequent flights. Serve as aircraft and payload operator for MQ-1C Gray Eagle/MQ5B, directing safety of aircraft during flight. Served in locations including Fort Leonard, MO, Fort Huachuca, AZ, Fort Stewart, GA, Fort Riley, KS and Kandahar Airfield in Afghanistan; logged over 600 flight hours throughout Afghanistan.
