• Reported directly to the Executive Senior leadership for North Central Bronx Hospital, serving as an instrumental part of the administrative team.
• Managed the planning, development and administration of hospital operations, overseeing the supporting departments (i.e. EVS, Engineering & Maintenance, Lab, Blood Bank, and Medical Records).
• Partnered in the planning and logistics of the 120 temporary ICU bed expansion project, to manage the surge of COVID-19 patients in order to support the health systems plan to tripe the ICU bed capacity. Worked closely with both outside contractors and local agencies on the construction and building of the facilities bed expansion.
• Assist with the re-organization of departments throughout the facility and the transfer of existing patients to other units in order to accommodate the influx of patients and hospital needs.
• Implemented a facility COVID community advocate team aimed to increase the awareness on the importance of getting tested and the two types of COVID test offered by the facility through community outreach. Through this initiative we increased the daily patient testing rate by 30%; seeing over 100 patients daily at our COVID clinic.
• Managed the onboarding, training and timekeeping of 25 contingency staff members assigned to the facility to provide support to the clinical staff.
• Assisted with the development of safety precautions and procedures in accordance to the CDC guidelines by implementing social distancing signage, visual floor cues and the installation plexiglass throughout the facility in order to ensure the safety of our staff, patients and visitors.
• Led the site implementation of a new security technology printing system that enabled staff to print documents from any location in the facility where a canon printing device was available by using their hospital ID badge. This new functionality increased security, improved efficiencies, and reduced financial and environmental cost.
• Provided monthly reporting to senior leadership on key data including, but not limited to, MyChart patient enrollment for the adult & pediatric Emergency Departments, the ED self-pay rate and updates on facility projects.
• Served as a liaison between management and HR with resolving any outstanding staff evaluations, issues that arose with any pending onboarding requirements and departmental compliance with mandatory trainings.
