Highlights

DeepSea required leadership for subsea and engineering projects. Selected as Engineering Manager to oversee all phases of engineering and partake in weekly upper management meeting to identify business and project strategies. Led team of 15 engineers, assisted with invoicing and payment collections; supported BD manager to prepare marketing material; led project proposals and CTR preparation; and assigned / reviewed engineering design calculations, procedures, bid evaluations and feasibility studies prior to issue. Successfully executed duties on schedule and helped establish DeepSea as a world class organisation.

Petrobras commenced the Walker Ridge oil and gas project in GOM, involving free-standing hybrid risers and subsea electric submersible pumps. As Subsea Pre-Commissioning Engineer, pre-commissioned dual pipelines and umbilicals connecting Cascade East & West fields as well as dual flowlines connecting Chinook field. Created field development strategies; assisted development of deepwater subsea hydrotesting utilizing CT; supervised SIT of subsea horizontal well trees in LA; and provided input for weekly and monthly reporting. Successfully pre-commissioned all subsea equipment with project meeting targets and budgets.

Torch Offshore required pipeline installation and subsea fabrication to execute the Marathon Alba Project in Equatorial Guinea, including installation of 4x pipe-in-pipe and 1x 24" condensate pipelines with tie-in spools and 1 control umbilical. Seconded as Senior Offshore Engineer to oversee fabrication and installation onboard the Midnight Brave lay barge. Executed engineering and strategies; interfaced with survey, diving, welding, NDE and commissioning; participated in risk / hazard assessment; and prepared weekly client interface reports. Successfully completed installation and fabrication on schedule and on budget ($12M).

Set up TALÁN Engineering to provide Oil & Energy organisations with quality subsea and mechanical engineering services.

Ichalkil & Pokoch Pipeline, Risers and Tie-In Spool Fabrication - Fieldwood Energy E&P Mexico: Overseeing the fabrication of shallow water rigid risers, 16” reeled steel subsea pipelines and associated tie-in spools for 2 construction (Greenfield) and 1 existing (Brownfield) offshore platforms in Chet Morrison’s Harvey, LA (USA) and Vera Cruz, Mexico as well as ICAF’s Tampico, Mexico construction yards.

Ichalkil & Pokoch Subsea Field Development - Fieldwood Energy E&P Mexico: Oversaw the design and fabrication of 2 x 16” pipelines and risers to existing platform containing high pH and H2S levels and interfaced with engineering and equipment manufacturers concerning project required equipment.

Shell Refinery Deer Park, TX: Supported the Big Block Turnaround Project, including 33 CAPEX projects and developed specialized access database to track procured process and piping equipment.

McDermott International: Created bid proposal documents, including engineering, schedules and cost estimates for 3 projects: BP Angelin, Anadarko Independence Hub Decommissioning & Chevron Buckskin.

2010 to 2015: Wood Group Kenny, Houston: Project Manager

Wood Group Kenny is one of the world's largest and most innovative pipeline, subsea engineering and project management contractors, with 27 worldwide offices and over 30 years of experience.

Reported to the Department Manager and worked autonomously at numerous client sites, including design office and offshore environments, delivering various subsea engineering projects worldwide.
