Drilling Experience:
October 2019 – Present: Drill Site Manger @ BPX – Orla, Delaware Basin
Currently drilling development horizontal wells in the Middle and Upper Wolfcamp Shale. Experience with severe water flows in the vertical section – utilizing ADS Choke Pressure Drilling System, Bullheading wells, and stripping pipe in and out of hole. Vigilant personnel safety management in high potential H2S gas environments.
March 2017 – October 2019: Drill Site Manager @ Apache – Alpine High, Delaware Basin
Drilled multiple exploration and development wells in the Wolfcamp, Barnett, Bone Springs, and Woodford Formations. Experience with lost circulation in vertical and lateral sections, and severe water flows. Managed cementing operations including liner & plug-back cementing. Managed offline cementing operations for surface, intermediate, and production sections on multi-well pads. Experience with Managed Pressure Drilling in drilling 10,000 foot laterals.
June 2014 – January 2017: Drill Site Manager @ Anadarko - Delaware and Permian Basin
Ran Vertitrac in the vertical section of wellbore, and conventional motors, MWD BHA’s, RSS, and PWD BHA’s, in the horizontal sections. Performed Underbalanced drilling in an abnormally pressured Wolfcamp. Drilled horizontal wells targeting the Wolfcamp, Bone Springs, and Avalon Formations.
February 2013 – May 2014: Drill Site Manager @ Apache - Montana (Wildcat, New Venture Drilling)
Pre-planning of all logistics - 300 miles to closest services and vendors. Managed onsite mud facility for building and storing mud in artic temperatures. Drilled horizontals targeting the Three Forks and Bakken Formations. Performed multiple coring jobs, wireline logging runs, and DST’s. Responsible for completing, fracking, and putting wells online for production.
December 2011 - January 2013: Drill Site Manager @ Chevron - Marcellus Shale, Pennsylvania
Drilled horizontal wells on multi-well pads targeting the Marcellus Shale with TVD’s of 8,900’-9,600’ and MD’s of 16,000’-20,000’ using a 1500 HP AC drive artic walking rig with a Varco TDS 11.
December 2009 - December 2011: Drill Site Manager @ Apache – Permian Basin, West Texas
Drilled horizontal wells targeting the Lower Clearfork Sand and Wolfcamp Shale with TVD’s of 7000’ and MD’s of 12,000’ in the Clearfork, and TVD’s of 9,500’ and MD’s of 13,500’ in the Wolfcamp. Used a 1,200 HP conventional super single rig with a split block power swivel. Used PERC reporting system.
April 2007 - December 2009: Drill Site Superintendent @ Devon – Barnett Shale, North Texas
Superintendent of four to six drilling rigs in the Barnett Shale. Maintained and improved safety programs; spud meetings; directional plans; location building; permitting; conference calls with management, geology, and engineers; AFE’s; drilling costs; final invoicing approval; drilling consultants; drilling contractors; casing design; extended reach laterals; Bit and BHA design; safety meetings; mud farms and drilling fluids programs; rig moves; and lessons learned reporting. Reported to Operations Manager. Had up to 18 rigs on weekends on duty. Worked seven days a week with every third weekend off.
February 2006 - April 2007: Drill Site Manager @ Devon - Barnett Shale, North Texas
Drilled horizontal wells targeting the Barnett Shale with TVD’s of 7,500’-8,000’ and MD’s of 12,000’-16,000’ using a 1500 HP AC drive rig with a Varco TDS 11. Two/Three casing string program. Used DIMS and Wellview for reporting system and worked a 14/14 rotational schedule.
2004 – 2006: Rig Manager @ Cactus Drilling. Rigs #117 & 137 - Oklahoma and Barnett Shale
Helped design and build the urban friendly Rocket Rig - brought first two rigs to Barnett Shale for XTO Energy.
2002 – 2004: Cement Supervisor @ Schlumberger - South TX, TX Panhandle, and Oklahoma
Field Service Supervisor - Remedial cementing, Acidizing, Coil Tubing Cementing, and Well Control Operations. Operations experience include: HTHP cementing, Squeeze operations, Lost Circulation, Balanced Plugs, GASBLOCK, CEMNET, LITECRETE, DENSCRETE, Foam, Nitrogen cement, Primary & multiple stage cementing, and P&A cementing.

Drilled on Rig # 15 and Promoted to Toolpusher after three months of Cleere buying out Cude. Received Well Control Card from IADC. Cleere was in turn bought out by Patterson-UTI Drilling.
1995 – 2000: Roughneck @ Cude Drilling Company - South Texas
Started as a floorhand and moved through the ranks – motorman, derrickman, and eventually driller by the age of 23. Cude was bought out by Cleere Drilling Comp.
