Site Director for the Forensic Assessment Network

Provided 2 trainings and 2 case consultation meetings for each of our three assigned regions of Texas. This adds up to 12 presentations in the state of Texas per year for DFPS-CPS staff. In addition I have invited distinguished speakers to speak at our Grand Rounds on the topics of child physical/sexual abuse and neglect.

Didactic Activities

Reading articles, teaching residents about medical assessment of child maltreatment, and presenting topics regarding child maltreatment to CPS workers or other medical professionals.

Court Testimony

2008 – 02/2012 - asked to testify as expert witness in eight cases as child abuse and neglect pediatrician

Brazoria and Galveston County Child Advocacy Center Contracts

Oversaw two nurse practitioners in our child abuse program serving Child Advocacy Centers in Galveston and Brazoria counties. Involved in administrative roles regarding our contracts with both counties. Attended weekly meetings with CPS workers, Assistant District Attorney, and Law enforcement officers.

PUBLICATIONS

Co-Author of a medical student clerkship Design-A-Case web module on child abuse entitled “A fussy baby” found at www.designacase.org.
