DOCK CREW-DECKHAND, Pacific Cachelot ltd

Contributed in the process of rebuilding a 60-foot tugboat. Duties included sandblasting, welding, grinding, priming, painting, assisting mechanics, and engineers installing new parts.

Deckhand/Mate: various 30-100-foot tugs

Duties included building tows, gearing tows, cleaning, cooking, wheel shifts on 2-man tug, navigating radar/GPS, and calling traffic for check points.

2012 – 2014

DECKHAND-MATE, gowland towing

Yarding 4 wide tows on 2-man tug, towing booms on 3-man tug, building log tows, barge assist, tying lines for deep sea ships, wheel shifts, gearing up tows, running the winch, regular maintenance required.

2010-2012

DECKHAND-FACTORY WORKER, viking seafoods

150-foot fishing vessel departed from Steveston BC to Queen Charlotte Island.

Cleaned fish, maintenance on freezers, worked in hold at -40 degrees packing/unpacking fish, and assisted bringing in nets.

2008-2010

DRILLERS HELPER, dynaster

Packing dynamite and setting charges for seismic exploration.

60 TON CAPTIANS TICKET, Safer ocean systems

Chartwork, pilotage, meds a1 a2, radios operator, and marine first aide.

Hold valid H2S, confined space, fall protection, WHIMIS, and food safe tickets.
