• Successfully Completed our final year Civil Project in the development of

[Numerical Modeling of a Martian Soil Simulant]

• In this project, we intend to use the Abaqus software to simulate the triaxial shear experiment in order to gain insights into soil behavior.

• The essential parameters of the soil at study are obtained in the lab via standard geotechnical experiments. Since the soil at study, found in Matanomadh, Kachchh, India contains Jarosite, a mineral previously not found on Earth but has been found abundantly on the landing site of the Curiosity rover at the Gale crater on Mars.

• This study aims to understand the soil behavior of this soil using critical state soil mechanic formulations performed in the software built on the finite element method. The findings of the study may further be translated to the behavior of the Martian regolith by comprehensive correlative studies aimed at understanding regolith behavior which is crucial for any future human endeavors pertaining to human colony settlements on the red planet. • Prepared Seminar Report on Application of Internet of Things in civil engineering.
