As a young and motivated individual, I am extremely exited to start a new career in the UAE. I am a South African citizen by birth, born 28 November 1988 in Cape Town. I’m married to Jeanette Corbett
(maiden name, Fernhout) and we do not have any children. My wife and I have been discussing and seriously considering immigrating for a while now. Both my wife and I think it is the perfect time in our lives to make a big move, as we do not currently have anything keeping us back. I would jump at the opportunity at a career in the Dubai and I’m hopeful that this will provide the opportunity to do so. In November 2016 I completed my Master’s degree in Mechatronic Engineering. My thesis project focused on research, development, problem solving, testing, data analysis and report writing. This has given me a range of practical capabilities that will meet the needs of this role. After completion of my masters, I started working at Cape Advanced Engineering, a research and development company focusing on renewable energy systems. I was responsible for research, development and testing for new projects as well as upgrading existing projects. I designed, developed, selected, tested and implemented the electronic components and software operate our projects. With all the projects I kept records of tasks completed and documented it all in technical reports. This position has given me key problem-solving skills, while also allowing me to experience working in a fast-paced work environment. Key competencies:
• Testing: During both my masters and work experience, have I been involved and responsible for system, design and product testing.
• Report writing: All project I have been involved in I had to capture all relevant information and document it in a presentable technical document.
• R&D: Prior to any commissioning phase, a lot of time was spent on researching, developing and testing components and systems. Focusing on research, development and testing significantly simplified the commissioning process
• Problem-solving: As the engineering lead on some of thee operating plants, continuous monitoring, optimisation and a lot of problem solving was done to ensure our systems operated within specification My colleague and employers have commended me for my high attention to detail and commitment to resolve/finish problems/projects. My motivations include, expanding my knowledge base and the challenge of meeting key objectives.
I would appreciate the opportunity to meet with you to discuss my application at an interview. I have enclosed a copy of my resume for your consideration. I can be contacted at all times on the details provided above. Thanking you in advance for your time and consideration, John-Henry Corbett
