Rocket Propulsion Lab – Los Angeles, CA
Avionics Structures Lead Engineer April 2020–Present
● Lead an interdisciplinary team of engineers to redesign, analyze, and manufacture avionics structural components for use on “Domepiercer” launch vehicle which will surpass Kármán line.
● Headed assembly, testing, and operation of “POISE” launch vehicle avionics hardware which successfully withstood anomalous 17g’s of acceleration during stage separation.
● Provided on-site rapid troubleshooting and component repairs as Avionics Structures Responsible Engineer during “POISE” launch (January 2020) to ensure nominal launch operations. Dynamic Robotics and Control Laboratory – Los Angeles, CA Mechanical Design Research Assistant August 2020–Present
● Modeled biped robot with 5 DoF legs employing cable and hydraulically actuated joints in Siemens NX.
● Lead hardware design on project to enable bipedalism in COTS quadrupedal robot.
● Developed and tested custom planetary 9:1 gear train-driven DCBL actuator. NASA RASC-AL “Minimum Mars Ascent Vehicle” USC Design Team – Los Angeles, CA GNC and Structures Sub–teams September 2020–Present
● Developed orbital inclination and eccentricity correction maneuver for custom MAV in NASA’s General Mission Analysis Tool, optimizing for Δv.
● Defined ideal spacecraft shape based on drag analysis in Martian atmosphere while minimizing mass. WORK EXPERIENCE
Pivotal Commware – Kirkland, WA
Mechanical Engineering Intern May 2019–August 2019 & May 2020–August 2020
● Created R&D test fixtures with azimuth and elevation control using in-house machine shop and Stratasys Fortus 380mc 3D printer. Mounts still in use for material testing.
● Designed and manufactured production assembly fixtures for RF absorbers and enclosures.
● Defined thermal and DFM part requirements; modified design to guarantee compliance in Solidworks.
● Simulated extreme temperature conditions for antennas using Solidworks Thermal Analysis and proposed alternate design to verify functionality under thermal boundary conditions. SKILLS
