Nurse Practitioner

I currently work as the section chief for NPs and PAs in the Interventional Radiology department. Our practice covers the interventional radiology responsibilities of 2 hospitals. We provide 24/7 IR services. My duties include minor procedures that include PICC line placement, hemodialysis catheter placement, chest tube placement, thoracentesis, paracentesis, hip injections, and etc. I do post procedure follow for major procedure, which include carotid artery stent placement, peripheral artery stent placement, as well as others, performed by the interventional radiologist in the hospital as well as the office setting. My duties as chief of the NP/PA section include chart reviews to ensure documentation and billing are correct, work with the office manager to ensure that all staff are functioning efficiently and professionally, and interact with all staff in a professional way. I am also a liason between the office manager and group president and the NP/PA employees. I work closely with the office manager to find new ways the NP/PA practice can contribute to improved patient care and work efficiency within the IR department.
