Provide influential unit leadership as Charge Nurse overseeing shift to shift operations and ensuring safe, quality, effective care for patients across the lifespan with varied oncologic conditions. Optimize workflow processes to maximize productivity while maintaining patient comfort, safety, and satisfaction. Instrumental in precepting new professionals by providing opportunities for learning to build confidence in applying best care practices. Simultaneously manage 4 to 5 of my own assigned patients utilizing the full scope of the nursing process to deliver individualized, compassionate care; experienced in caring for gynecology oncology, post-operative TAH/BSO, gastric, colon, sarcomas, melanomas, breast and lung cancers, leukemias and patients undergoing bone marrow transplants. Meticulously monitor responses to care; rapidly recognize the signs of oncologic or other life-threatening emergencies and implement stabilizing interventions until higher care is provided. Offer education, resources, and support to patients and families fostering a strong understanding of diagnosed conditions and treatment plans. Accurately chart all pertinent health information to the patient’s Epic EMR to support exceptional continuity of care.
