I was initially employed as a driver but my determination & drive to learn other areas of expertise within the warehouse has equipped me with the ability to master skills in despatch, receiving & customer liaison. Responsibilities as a Driver:

Delivery schedules

Co-ordinating loads and routes to minimize fuel consumption

Conduct inspections of vehicle before departing to deliver goods

Deliver orders to customers on assigned routes

Unload goods as per client specifications

Review deliveries with customers to ensure products meet their needs

Obtain delivery confirmations from each customer

Reviewing orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, the charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied

Licencing of all company vehicles

Booking services for all delivery vehicles, maintaining vehicle records and inspections for damages

Responsibilities as a Despatch Clerk:

Stock take count and procedures followed at all times

Assisting with packing and pulling orders for delivery

Liaise with suppliers that orders are ready to be dispatched

Ensure that there are no damages to any garments when they reach the customer (quality control), if there are, making sure replacements are ordered

Prepare box labels and email to suppliers

Prepare collection advices and emailing the courier guy and supplier and delivery notes (when self-delivery is not applicable)

Tracking orders to make sure delivery is on time

Email POD's and collection advices to sales department

Wrapping samples for Trade Shows/Photo Shoots and sales reps

Update order board with dispatch dates

Follow up on dispatch dates, once the orders have been placed in the system and received from our operations department, includes sample orders

Contact the client if we can't meet their dispatch date & providing customer service in terms of assisting with complaints

Maintaining stock warehouse, keeping it clean & tidy

Keeping an updated stock record for stock held at factory at all times

Match the delivery to a purchase order

Check off quantities and description of goods against purchase order, note any discrepancies

If there was no purchase order or record of the order, check with my supervisor or purchasing department before rejecting the goods

Check products are not damaged

If any damaged items are found in the delivery, I recorded the extent of the damage on the consignment note and immediately notified the supplier with details of the issue to discuss the next step

Enter items received into SYNC system as soon as possible, including the date and quantities received

Packing of received items, allocating space to unreceived items

Send a copy of the signed and dated consignment note to the accounts payable department.
